THE POWER OF THE ANOINTING 1

“And Elisha said unto her, what shall I do for thee? Tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not anything in the house, save a pot of oil" .2 Kings 4:2

In the scripture above, after this woman who lost are husband and her sons were to be taken as bondmen cried to Elisha, the Prophet said to her “what shall I do for thee? Tell me, what hast thou in the house?” The Prophet Elisha sought to know what she had in her house. You must understand that God has already placed something inside you that will give you the capacity to change your world. This is what I want to reveal to you today.

The woman’s reply to Elisha was nothing but shocking, because she first said “I have nothing, she considered her little as one of no effect. This is one common mistake many people, even Christians make today. We do not see the little we have as a profitable material; we are waiting for the big one. This however, is not today’s focus.

She then said “save a pot of oil, meaning she had the oil. The Oil represents the anointing. What this means therefore is she had the anointing in her house but was suffering because she either did not know what to do, or did not have the power to do what she was supposed to do.

This is another tragedy of our time; ‘We have the anointing, yet we suffer because we do not know.The anointing is the authority that God Himself has given to you to destroy every yoke. In other words, there is no circumstance that should defeat you, no burden that should be on your shoulder, nor a yoke on your neck, because you have the anointing (Isaiah 10:27).

I have the power of God working in me. By the authority of the anointing, I command every yoke in my life, whether inherited, put on me by evil people or put on me by myself, to be destroyed now in Jesus name.

Catholic Priest Kidnapped in Kaduna

Reverend Father Jeremiah Yakubu The pastor of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kauru, Kaduna Municipality, Rev. Jeremiah Yakubu, was kidnapped by gunmen. Although the Kaduna police authorities have not yet commented on the incident, the Chancellor of the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, Rev. Emmanuel Okolo, said in a statement that Father Jeremiah was kidnapped from the parish rectory in Kauru LGA at about 11pm on Sunday. The Chancellor calls for fervent prayers for the speedy and safe release of the victim from the kidnappers and urges parishioners not to take justice into their own hands.
